Itinerary:

Depart from Chengdu for the legendary "Panda Village"– the Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center. Here, surrounded by towering mountains and shrouded in mist, lies the core area of the Giant Panda National Park, an environment where giant pandas thrive. The center's work focuses on facilitating the return of captive giant pandas to the wild and conducting international scientific research cooperation.

 Giant Panda Volunteer Activity:

 Our activities will be centered at the Panda Conservation Center. We will listen to fascinating stories about  giant pandas, learn about rescue and reintroduction efforts, and gain insights into China's sustainable  development projects for giant pandas.Our in-depth giant panda habitat journey goes beyond merely observing various panda types. You will have a "close encounter"with giant pandas – experience the daily work of a panda keeper. This volunteer experience takes you into non-public areas of the panda center, where you will prepare their staple food, bamboo, learn to prepare panda food, clean enclosures, study feeding knowledge, conduct behavioral observation analysis, and with luck, even touch panda feces. You will also receive an officially certified  volunteer service certificate.

 Savor authentic Sichuan cuisine, including the Chinese noodles and Mapo Tofu mentioned in the "Kung Fu  Panda"story.

Head to the "Jade Palace"where Po trained – a martial arts school at the foot of Qingcheng Mountain.Learn Chinese martial arts, with the option to choose signature moves featured in the film: Crane's Neck  Stretch,Tortoise's  Shoulder Circle, Swimming Dragon, White Ape Offers Fruit, Silver Snake Sways Tail,Golden Rooster Stands on One Leg, etc.

Return to Chengdu

Exploring the Giant Panda National Park

Earth's Last Wilderness Wildlife Kingdom

The Sanjiangyuan National Park on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with an average altitude of around 4,600 metres, is a veritable paradise for wildlife. We shall witness the mass migration of TChiru, track snow leopards as they roam the snow-capped mountains, and seek out wild yaks, kiangs, white-lipped deer, blue sheep, Tibetan foxes, black-necked cranes, bar-headed geese and Himalayan vultures – wildlife rarely seen elsewhere.


The Last Secret Place on Earth

The Shangri-La region is not only a rich species gene bank but also one of the best-preserved biodiversity hotspots in China. Numerous rare and unique species thrive here, including the Yunnan Snub-nosed Monkey, Stryker's Snub-nosed Monkey, Skywalker Hoolock Gibbon, Sclater's Monal, Slender-billed Scimitar Babbler, and Fire-tailed Myzornis. Moreover, this is also one of the most culturally diverse regions in China.

A hundred years later, we will follow in the footsteps of botanist Ernest Henry Wilson, revisiting the plant kingdom of the Hengduan Mountains in search of the Meconopsis, often hailed as the "Goddess of the Highlands," retracing his pioneering route.
